The Grieving Process in Adults

Bu içeriği Yapay Zekâ ile özetleyin

The psychological reactions seen in people after great losses are called grief. The first thing that comes to mind with the term loss is the death of a loved one. However, we encounter many losses throughout our lives, such as loss of a pet, job, status, health, organ, and wealth.

The grief reaction is seen in everyone who has suffered a loss, but it can vary from person to person and also between cultures. The first reaction after the loss of a loved one, a loved one or property is a feeling of shock. Many emotions can be experienced during this process; people usually go through at least two of the stages of denial and shock, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance. The person has lost their emotions and is confused. They cannot make sense of what has happened, they cannot believe it. When they start to understand what has happened, they enter the process of crying and mourning. They cannot eat, cannot sleep, and do not want to talk to people. Interest in their surroundings has decreased and it has become difficult to concentrate. Sleep is irregular and dreams about the lost person or object are frequent. When the person wakes up with nightmares, they cannot understand whether what they are experiencing is real or a dream. Sometimes the feelings felt towards the lost person can be so strong that the mourner may say that they hear the voice of the deceased or see themselves. In order for this to be considered normal, the person must accept that this situation is not real.
