Biyografi

Specialist Clinical Psychologist Gizem Hamurcu, who was one of the first students of Ordu Science and Art Center (BİLSEM) in 2003, completed her high school education in Ankara. She entered the Department of Psychology at Çankaya University with a full scholarship. During her undergraduate period, she voluntarily interned at the Gazi University Medical Faculty Hospital Psychiatry service (2014). In the same period, she was entitled to receive a certificate of participation from the “Sexual Dysfunction” workshop, which she attended as part of the National Psychology Student Congress. In 2015, she did her compulsory internship in the outpatient clinic, inpatient service and sleep laboratory at the Gulhane Military Medical Academy Psychiatry Clinic.

She completed her master’s degree at Beykent University. During her master’s degree, she completed her compulsory internship in Erenköy Mental and Neurological Diseases Hospital in women’s, men’s and AMATEM boarding services and in the pediatric outpatient clinic. She integrated family and child issues, which are her main fields of study, in her master’s thesis and published her thesis named “Examination of the Relationship Between Marriage Satisfaction and Paternal (Father-Infant) Attachment”. She revealed new data on the subject of father-infant attachment, which is rare in the literature.

She started her career in 2016 by conducting therapy processes with children and adolescents in a private counseling center in Istanbul. She has worked with many and adolescents who have problems in many different areas such as separation anxiety, borderline problems, behavioral disorders, exam anxiety, depression. She conducted play therapy, child and adolescent CBT, attention studies, psychometric studies, exam counseling and family interviews. In 2018, she carried out psychosocial studies with inpatients with mental and intellectual disability reports in a special disability care center, and continued her work with children and adolescents as a freelance, while providing support to the relatives of patients. She started working in a private psychiatric hospital in Ankara in 2019 and conducted psychotherapy processes with inpatients diagnosed with psychopathology.
