Yıldırım Beyatlı Doğan who was born 1950, grew up in the Cumhuriyet family of a civil servant father and a housewife mother. His school education, which started at the age of 6, passed in different towns and cities due to his father’s civil service, and came to Ankara (1966) in his last year of high school. He studied and finished the last year of high school here. In the same year, he passed the AFS (American Field Service) exam, but did not go. During his specialization, he worked especially with psychotic patients and alcohol addicts. The specialization thesis is the evaluation of interactional group psychotherapy with the patient group formed by alcohol addicts and schizophrenic patients, which is a first in those years. The interactional group treatment he performed with alcohol addicts was also carried out in the Group Treatments accompanied by observers, and it is the first of its kind. After graduation, he worked as a clinical assistant in the treatment of dependents at the University of London Maudsley and Bethlehem Royal Hospitals.

He was promoted to associate professor in 1984 to professor in 1992.

On his return to the country, he applied a group Treatment Model, which he called Multi-Joint Group Treatment, in the Alcohol Addiction Treatment Unit, which he had previously served in the establishment. In addition, he represented his country in international meetings as an addiction specialist. It has been included in the addiction-related platform at the national level. He is currently working as a Consultant Addiction Specialist in the Department of Security Strategy at the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
